Paper shredders are an essential part of the equipment in an office. These shredding machines efficiently shred paper providing secure destruction of any confidential documents with the highest level paper shredders being the ones that chop the paper up the smallest. If you are looking for a starting point of which paper shredder machine to buy then think of them being classified into three categories. Small personal paper shredders - these are generally small paper shredders that will shred only a couple of pieces of paper at a time which are suitable for home use or light office use. Deskside paper shredders - these are slightly larger and would be suitable for a small office and these will generally shred up to about 10 sheets of paper at a time. Departmental paper shredder - these are large heavy duty industrial paper shredders that will not only shred your paper but also paper clips, staples and credit cards and will generally shred up to 25 sheets of paper at a time.
Within these three categories there is also paper shredder security level which measures how small the pieces of paper are chopped up into. There are seven security levels with security level one being the largest particles and security level seven being the smallest particles.
