Highlighters pens and markers, or textliners as they are sometimes called, are a marker or pen that can be marked over the top of printed or written text that highlights anything of particular interest. Before these became widely available they were known as magic markers spelt as hi-lighters back in the 1950s/1960s. Some 85% of all bought highlighters are in yellow and pink color, but some highlighters mark in orange, red, purple, blue, and green in either neon or pastel colours.
